MEET THE DIVAS

This page is dedicated to the fabulous women who make up the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame.  I wanted to **SPOTLIGHT** them because they are so talented and represent what it means to age gracefully.

What is your New Years’ Resolution for 2008?  I don’t make resolutions but I do set goals (see http://vadirectory.net/blog/?p=255).  My goals for this year haven’t yet been set – I put aside a planning day in January each year to work on these and pray about them.

Did you keep your Resolution(s) in 2007?  Goals – yes.  I had 7 goals set for the year, 4 business related, 3 personal.  I met 3/4 for business and 2/3 for personal so that means I met 5 out of 7 of my goals – I’m happy with that.

What’s the main reason you think people fail to meet their goals?  They don’t plan and if people don’t plan, then they’re setting themselves up for failure in most cases.  Planning means putting something on paper and revisiting it often.  Like having a roadmap – if you know where you’re going and follow the map, you’ll get there.  If you don’t follow the map, you’ll get lost or sidetracked. And if you don’t have a map does it really matter where you end up?  As you don’t have a plan to get wherever it might be!

What do you look forward to in 2008 that didn’t seem possible in 2007?  Publishing another book. Now I’ve succeeded in 2007 and had success with the process (which I documented by the way) I can now put steps in place for my next one. I like this author side of me!

What’s your best feature?  My personality.  Hubby loves my looks (so he should too) but I think it’s my personality that wins people over.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?  Fridays – it means my hubby will be home in the evening and won’t be heading off to work for 2 more days.

What celebrity actress do you think you look like or have been told you resemble?  I don’t know that I’ve ever been told I look like one but I did one of those web analysis once a long time ago and scored Sally Field.

What business tip would you like to offer?  Only one? That’s hard because so many go hand-in-hand with each other.  I guess my top tip that I tell people over and over and over again is that networking is done both online and offline.  If you only do one or the other, you miss half your audience.  Some people prefer to business with those they’ve met personally (face-to-face) and others are happy to do business with someone they’ve connected with online.
